Finnish people believe themselves to have a unique quality called sisu. For a person to have sisu, they are diligent, capable, determined, and perhaps a tad crazy, in the sense that a person would take on a monumental task. Sisu means taking on challenges even if the odds are against you and having the strength to see them through. It is finishing what you started and having great courage.
SISU: noun. [si-soo].
1. Stoic determination regardless of cost.
